MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – Monday was the first work day in New York City since congestion pricing went into effect over the weekend.
Drivers with E-ZPasses entering Manhattan at or below 60th Street will now be charged a $9 once-daily toll between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. If you're driving during off-peak hours, you'll have to pay $2.25.
If you believe there is an issue with how your toll was processed, like if you were double charged, there is some recourse.
Anyone experiencing toll issues can call the E-ZPass Customer Service Center at 1-800-333-TOLL (8655), according to the MTA.
You also won't see the charge for the congestion pricing toll on your E-ZPass account the same day you went through the license plate reader, according to the MTA.
The MTA reminded drivers to update or create their E-ZPass account before the toll went into effect. Drivers without an E-ZPass or who haven't linked their license plate to their account will be charged an extra 50%.
